Kleine Mantelmeeuw | Lesser Black-backed Gull | Larus fuscus
1cy Lesser Black-backed Gull / Larus fuscus, Westkapelle - sea dike (The Netherlands) on 26 August 2010
Pictures of an unusual dark juvenile Lesser Black-backed Gull. The belly, upper mantle and hindneck are uniform dark brown. The chest is dark mottled, but it seems that there are some traces of oil. The vent and undertail looks quite normal.

Note the difference with the picture of the same individual above. Now the underparts looks rather more dark mottled instead of uniform dark brown.
